🌈 Connecting the Valley of the Sun's LGBTQ+ Community

GayPHX sprang to life from a shared dream between me, Bily Foster, and my husband, Brian Hughes. We were driven by a desire to unite the vibrant LGBTQ+ community across the Valley of the Sun. Our frustration with discovering amazing events only after they had occurred sparked the creation of GayPHX — a platform designed to be the go-to hub for everything LGBTQ+ in the valley.

The launch of GayPHX into beta was met with incredible feedback. The positive response from the community was overwhelming, highlighting the need for a centralized resource. It was clear that for GayPHX to fully serve our community, it needed to evolve. That's when Allan Sonkin, affectionately known as Little Bear, offered his help, marking the start of a complete rebuild.

Under Allan's guidance, what began as a simple database and webpage was transformed into a comprehensive system. This new foundation not only made it easier for us to manage features and add events on the fly but also paved the way for the development of a site that could rapidly adapt to community feedback. With Allan's contribution, GayPHX became the dynamic and inclusive platform you see today, with even more exciting features on the horizon.

Today, GayPHX stands as a testament to community, collaboration, and the collective spirit of the LGBTQ+ community in the Valley of the Sun.
